The Best Provence Books
There are so many books about Provence out there. These are our favorites and a few others that we've heard about.
Being in Provence
A Year in Provence
(Peter Mayle). This is the book that started it all. It's funny, it's full of great descriptions, we love it, and it's still the first one to read.
Provence A-Z (Peter Mayle). We haven't read Peter's latest yet, but it's very well reviewed.
Best Provence Travel Guides
Lonely Planet Provence. The Lonely Planet is our favorite travel guide wherever we go. We find it really easy to use, and we appreciate that they indicate prices quite precisely, rather than with a vague "$$$" symbol. For more pictures, you can combine it with the gorgeous Eyewitness GuidesRick Steve's Provence. We haven't read this one but it's earned great reviews.
Best Provence Cookbooks

The Adventure Cookbook. In our view, one of the best travel books and cookbooks at the moment... We are proud to be sponsoring the author. You can read the Amazon reviews here. Sofia Brandon takes you around the world as she discovers the art of clean eating. Funny, touching, inspiring. This book is half exotic adventure, half cookbook, with beautiful recipes adapted from Provence, where Sofia wrote the book.
Best Provence Coffee Table Books
Two yummy books, the first about villages, the second about home decoration.
